DENVER – Mar. 5, 2021: The Colorado Commission on Higher Education today approved 27 proposals that provide more than $875,000 in funding for Open Educational Resources (OER) projects throughout the state. OER are high-quality teaching, learning and research resources that permit free or repurposed use and are legally available to students for free or very low-cost.
DENVER – March 4, 2021: A total of 12,333 teacher candidates enrolled in Colorado educator preparation programs during the 2018-19 academic year, an increase of 9.2% during a recent four-year period —from 11,297 in 2015-16 according to a report and interactive dashboard from the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) and Colorado Department of Education (CDE).

DENVER – Oct. 29, 2020: Governor Jared Polis named six winners of his Zero Textbook Cost Challenge, which encourages Colorado institutions of higher education to increase access, equity, and affordability for college students through expanding the use of open educational resources (OER).
DENVER – Oct. 23, 2020: Fort Lewis College, the Colorado Department of Education, and the Colorado Department of Higher Education have been chosen as one of seven state teams to take part in the National Association of Family, School, and Community Engagement's (NAFSCE) Family Engagement Consortium of Pre-Service Educator Preparation.
DENVER – Oct. 21, 2020: Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) awarded $1 million of the $44 million Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund to 12 public institutions of higher education. The colleges and universities will use the funds to award emergency relief aid to students who have not yet been awarded funds from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund.
