The Data, Research, and Policy Division (DRP) of the Colorado Department of Higher Education is the main steward of individual-level data received from various sources. These data allow for analysis into student outcomes along the K12 to postsecondary education to workforce continuum. DRP oversees data collection, external data sharing, database development and maintenance and provides data support and leadership to the Department and external partners.
DRP leads in the development and execution of a state higher education policy agenda informed by robust research and evidence-based decision-making. This is achieved through collecting, analyzing and reporting relevant data on postsecondary student success measures for a variety of student populations. DRP works to enhance policy development by ensuring that state policies align with the goals of improving student access and success across higher education in Colorado.
The DRP team develops a research agenda for the Department and works closely with external partners to enhance research on Colorado student access and outcomes, aligned with the CCHE Strategic Plan. This research informs policy development and decision-making processes, ultimately contributing to student success and shaping higher education policy in the state.
