Colorado Department of Higher Education Provides Notice of Data Incident

DENVER – Aug. 4, 2023: The Colorado Department of Higher Education (“CDHE”) is providing notice of a cybersecurity incident that may involve the personal information of certain individuals. CDHE is providing information about the measures it has taken in response to the incident, and steps impacted individuals may take to protect themselves against possible misuse of information.

What Happened? 

Colorado Department of Higher Education announces seven additional Hunger Free and Healthy Minds designations

DENVER – June 8, 2023: The Colorado Department of Higher Education expanded its social determinants of student success initiative by adding seven new designations to its list of Hunger Free and Healthy Minds campuses.

The state is now one step closer to having all 31 public institutions of higher education earn the designations. Currently, 25 institutions have the Healthy Minds designation and 26 have the Hunger Free designation.  

Colorado Department of Higher Education celebrates Decision Day on May 1

DENVER, CO – April 27, 2023: The Colorado Department of Higher Education announces Monday, May 1 as Decision Day. The statewide campaign celebrates the importance of higher education and encourages Colorado students to reach higher—whether they attend a university, community college, private occupational school, or serve as an apprentice or in the military.
 
On Decision Day, Coloradans are encouraged to wear apparel from their alma mater, favorite school, or future program to rally in support of students on their path to postsecondary success.
 

The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative approves nearly $7.5 million in funding for Matching Student Scholarship programs across the state

DENVER, CO – April 12, 2023: The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) board awarded 78 proposals for the 2022-2023 Matching Student Scholarship application period that will provide nearly $15 million in scholarships for Colorado students.
 
COSI’s $7.5 million investment is part of its Matching Student Scholarship program which aims to help under-resourced students by matching community scholarship dollars one-to-one.
 

Colorado Commission on Higher Education releases statewide plan that focuses on serving more learners with programs of value

DENVER, CO – Feb. 2, 2023: With the support of Gov. Jared Polis and Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera, the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE) and Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) released a statewide plan focused on advancing the economic mobility of Colorado's learners and earners by aligning postsecondary talent development with industry and statewide needs.
