DENVER – Dec. 18, 2020: The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) board approved 25 proposals that will provide more than $3.3 million in scholarships for Colorado students.
DENVER – Dec. 16, 2020: The Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) and Colorado Equity Champions Coalition (ECC) today published Report on Educational Equity: Creating a Colorado for All, the state’s first equity report for higher education. The report supports Colorado’s goal to reach 66% educational attainment by 2025 through the implementation of strategies aimed at erasing equity gaps.

DENVER – Oct. 29, 2020: Governor Jared Polis named six winners of his Zero Textbook Cost Challenge, which encourages Colorado institutions of higher education to increase access, equity, and affordability for college students through expanding the use of open educational resources (OER).
DENVER – Oct. 23, 2020: Fort Lewis College, the Colorado Department of Education, and the Colorado Department of Higher Education have been chosen as one of seven state teams to take part in the National Association of Family, School, and Community Engagement's (NAFSCE) Family Engagement Consortium of Pre-Service Educator Preparation.
DENVER – Oct. 21, 2020: Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) awarded $1 million of the $44 million Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund to 12 public institutions of higher education. The colleges and universities will use the funds to award emergency relief aid to students who have not yet been awarded funds from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund.
DENVER – Oct. 1, 2020: The Colorado Department of Higher Education today announced a new online application that allows Colorado students that have historically not qualified for federal aid, to complete an application for state financial aid. The Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) opens today.
DENVER – Sept. 30, 2020: The Colorado Department of Higher Education has unveiled the Colorado Collegiate Apprentice Program, an innovative new learning model that empowers Coloradans with the hands-on career training to accelerate their education in specific fields. In partnership with the Colorado Community College system, the first learning track, launching this fall semester, is focused on careers in healthcare, with other industry programs to follow.
DENVER – Sept. 24, 2020: To encourage more Coloradans to continue their education, Gov. Jared Polis announced today that all 32 public colleges and universities in Colorado and several private institutions will allow students to apply for free on Tuesday, October 13 as part of the third annual Colorado Free Application Day.
