FAFSA/CASFA Lunch & Learn Series:

It is critical that everyone who helps students complete their FAFSA or CASFA receive training. Join the Colorado Department of Higher Education’s Outreach and Community Engagement team for a monthly virtual Lunch & Learn series.

These free webinars provide high school counselors and staff, student advocates, community education partners and professionals involved in FAFSA/CASFA processes the opportunity to attend this live webinar to obtain relevant financial aid information they can use to support their students. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, and collaborate.

Webinars are from noon to 1 p.m. on:

September 17 - Focus on EmpowerED, FosterED, and ETV

October 15 - Focus on My Colorado Journey and Colorado's Career Pathways

Educator Financial Aid Training

CDHE is developing new online training modules to support educator financial aid trainings across the state. These self-paced modules will provide flexible, on demand access to consistent and up to date information, making it easier for educators to build confidence in supporting students and families with FAFSA and CASFA completion and more! Keep an eye out for more information on launch dates and access details coming soon.

Upcoming CDHE Outreach Events

The Colorado Department of Higher Education and the Colorado Department of Human Services are partnering with organizations and community partners to recognize young people involved in foster care or youth services who have graduated from high school, received a GED, or obtained a college degree this year. The Celebration of Educational Excellence (CEEX) was created 27 years ago in response to the poor educational outcomes of current and former foster youth. The Celebration has grown and expanded throughout its history, has integrated a resource fair, and emphasizes youth voice and input. Graduates in attendance will be recognized, receive graduate gifts, and will have the opportunity to attend the resource fair to connect with organizations and community partners to support future successes.
