CDHE Policy Fellows
The CDHE Policy Fellows will learn from higher education leaders at CDHE regarding the role and responsibilities of the state's higher education Department and Commission. They will conduct research and write analyses on current policy issues, brief department colleagues and others on these issues, and serve as a resource for advocates and community groups. Fellows will also present to the Department and the Commission.
Fellows will:
- Participate in a selective program
- Understand the Department’s role, application, and development of higher education policy in Colorado
- Learn from Department experts on the role of the state in policymaking
- Develop a relationship with the CDHE team
Fellows agree:
- To be enrolled at a Colorado higher education institution, in a graduate program
- To attend a minimum of 6 of 7 meetings (all virtual)
- To commit 2 hours a month to group work, outside of meetings
- No compensation will be received
- That this is an education and training program tied to the Fellow’s formal education
- That the work complements the existing work of CDHE
Policy Fellows Schedule
Each session will run from 3:30- 5 p.m. MT on ZOOM.
- January 19: Role of Higher Education; Social Determinants of Student Success
- February 2: CDHE’s Role in Colorado
- February 16: Equity in Higher Education
- March 2: Colorado Higher Education Finance
- March 16: Workforce & Industry Partnerships
- April 1: Present at Colorado Commission on Higher Education Meeting (TIME CHANGE: 1:30 - 3p.m.)
- April 13: From Idea to Policy; Graduation
