UPDATE - Nov. 18, 2016

The Division of Private Occupational Schools has been working diligently to facilitate transfer of students from Heritage College to the many institutions who have offered to accept the transfer of those students.  We have obtained electronic copies of transcripts for students who were in attendance or on Leave of Absence from Heritage at the time of closure.  Students who have been unable to get their transcripts from Heritage can now contact the Division to obtain them by following the procedure outlined below.

Students, please keep in mind that while you can seek out and transfer to any institution to complete your education, it is up to the accepting institution what credits they will or will not accept off of your Heritage transcript.

During an interim Colorado Board of Private Occupational Schools meeting held on November 15, 2016, the Board discussed available options for students.  Two schools, Pima Medical Institute and College of International Esthetics provided the Board with written plans for train out/transfer, and education completion that they are able to provide to Heritage students. The Board approved these plans as presented as an option for students in their pursuit of continuing their education.
The approved programs allow students in the Allied Health programs to train out or transfer to Pima Medical Institute.  The program approved at College of International Esthetics will provide students who were very close to graduation the option of enrolling in a Board Preparation class for the purpose of preparing students for the state licensing examination.  Please contact these schools at the links provided below for more details on these potential opportunities:

Nov. 8, 2016

Heritage College has informed the Colorado Department of Higher Education that it has permanently closed its campuses effective Nov. 1. There is one Heritage College campus in Colorado, located in Denver.

The Division of Private Occupational Schools is working with remaining Heritage staff and the accrediting agency to secure student records and identify schools where students may continue their education. Several schools have approached DPOS regarding possible train-out agreements. Heritage offered programs in the allied health area, dental assisting, esthetics and massage therapy, among other trades.

Students and their education opportunities are our top priority. We will post more information as it becomes available.
