Higher Education Governing Boards Training
Tuesday, January 26
9am - 1pm via video conference
The Colorado Department of Higher Education holds a convening of higher ed boards and trustees annually as required by statute. The convening this year will be conducted via video conference to comply with COVID-19 social distancing rules.
To avoid a full day of video conferencing, the live meeting will be 3 1/2 hours - from 9am - 12:30pm. Because of this, we are creating a few video modules that can be accessed at will to provide expanded “training” and avoid the zoom fatigue that comes with extended live video conferencing.
The module topics for new trustees are listed below with links for viewing:
- VIDEO: Population & Economic Trends in Colorado by Elizabeth Garner, Colorado State Demographer
Slide deck from this presentation - VIDEO: Fiduciary Duties of Care, Loyalty & Obedience by Jacquie Rich Fredericks, First Assistant Attorney Genera
- VIDEO: CDHE Master Plan: Colorado Rises by Dr. Angie Paccione, CDHE Executive Director
- VIDEO: Convening in its entirety
To help you prepare for an effective meeting, here are some brief pre-meeting resources:
- VIDEO: Redesigning Higher Education for Student Success
- Rethinking How to Upskill Learners in Periods of Heavy Job Losses
- Half of College Students Say COVID-19 May Impact Completion
