SURDS Credit for Prior Learning File Description

Starting with an Academic Year 2023 with the first SURDS file being received to CCHE on August 15th 2023.
CCHE collects a full year Credit for Prior Learning data file on all students earning Credit for Prior Learning Credit that applies to GT Pathway courses and statewide transfer agreements by Prior Learning Type, and corresponding course data earned in Colorado public, postsecondary education institutions.

The file is the official source of Credit for Prior Learning data for public postsecondary education in Colorado. Among the general uses of enrollment file data are:
  • reporting by institutions of Credit for Prior Learning Types, AP, IB etc.
  • reporting to the Commission and Legislators.
  • assist in the ongoing process to identify and post to DHE site the approved work-related credentials with credential-to-course crosswalk.
  • to analyze effect of Credit for Prior Learning on student progression and completion.

Selection Criteria: The Credit for Prior Learning file is collected annually on an Academic year, by Summer, Fall, and Spring terms. Report data during this time frame, for all students earning Credit for Prior Learning and institutional course or courses awarded including but not limited to data elements such as course number and prefix.
